One of the best things about made to order product is the number of choices and options that you have at your disposal throughout the ordering process, with the selection is at its widest when it comes to our sneaker offering. The customer is able to choose what material they want from calf, kudu or Horween.
There's a range of colours across the uppers and sole units, all of which can be viewed on our website and selected and through the drop-down menus - Always remember if there's a combination not showing that you're interested in then just ask us and we'll make it for you. Then don't forget that you can even choose our wider G fit option if you've got a broad foot or high instep, our standard fitting is an F which is perfect for the majority of feet so we only normally suggest talking a G fit if you know you have wide feet.

So what does TL stand for and what are the main differences between the TL sneaker and the standard core sneaker models?
This is a question that we get asked regularly by our customers so let us explain a little more. The Sneaker Trim Line, aka the TL series, features alternative versions of our original Overstone and Upton sneaker styles that were designed first. With trimmed down uppers through reduced cushioning to the collar and tongue; the appearance of the TL is slimmer and leaner with a lightweight feel.

On the TL, all stitch work is precise and uniform in detail giving an overall clean and minimal look. Our original sneaker models also follow the minimal look with mostly hidden stitching throughout, yet they are finished with bagged top line (technical term) construction that forms around a padded collar. TL's are finished with raw edge construction, therefore without a padded collar and providing slimmer finish. Fully made in the Crown Northampton factory, the TL collection is made without metal eyelets, favouring simple punched holes instead. Whereas metal eyelets can be found on our standard core Overstone model.
OVERSTONE TL DERBY - FRENCH NAVY KUDU SUEDE
As with all Crown Northampton sneakers, the TL collection is lined with soft natural leather and includes a cushioned leather-lined insole to offer supreme comfort and breathability throughout. Due to the leather lining, both the TL and our standard core collection can be worn comfortably with or without socks, with no fear of smelly feet. All models share premium waxed laces, subtle Crown branding and handwritten internal style details to add the unique finishing touches.
At present, the TL collection is available to order in Italian calf leather along with kudu suede and leather from Charles F Stead in Leeds, England. Kudu works especially well in the TL due to the luxurious soft nap of the suede and the unique grain to the leather, highlighted in some of the new colour combinations pictured. Both TL and standard core original versions of our sneakers are extremely comfortable and use some of the finest materials available.

The same processes and top levels of craftsmanship are used when making all of our sneakers for both collections. 'Trim Line' does not mean that we've cut corners, it just reflects the appearance and styling. Quality of materials, construction, craftsmanship, and comfort remain consistently high across standard core and TL sneaker collections. Overall, the main differences can be found in the design details and look.
