J. & F. J. Baker is the last remaining Oak Bark Tannery in the UK, leather has been tanned on the site for over 500 years, so it is fair to say they know what they are doing. The English calf and Heffer we use takes over a year to tan making it one of the rarest and most sort after leathers in the world. Each component for these sneakers is from different parts of the animal and all are hand cut. We use calf for the upper, one skin is enough for one pair of sneakers carefully cut from the finest section of the skin. Shoulder is used for the welt, insole and inner structure and the bend for the through.

The right materials for every component are the most important thing when hand crafting to the best possible standard.
