All Crown Northampton Shoes are made in England from start to finish. This means all of our processes are carried out by skilled local tradesmen, something we're very proud of here at Crown. However, keeping your own factory running and maintaining employment of a workforce through bad times as well as good is not easy. Many companies decide to outsource labour in order to make a new business model work or are forced to cease trading altogether. 

Northamptonshire is universally known as the home of shoes but only a few active factories now remain, Crown being one of these. Fifth generation shoemaking Woodford and current business owner Chris Woodford recently gave an interview with 'Make It British' directory and website to talk about history, heritage and the importance of Made In UK.
