GENERAL FIT INFORMATION
Crown Northampton footwear fits true to UK sizing and all sizes are unisex so please order accordingly. We suggest ordering your usual UK size or corresponding US size in the table below.
All of our collections are made to an F fitting as standard. This is an industry average fit that will suit most feet but we are also able to offer a wider than average G fitting on request.
If you require a wide fit, please just add 'G Fitting' in the checkout notes box before payment. These notes will be added to your order and passed on our factory. Our unique wide fitting service is a popular choice among many customers.

All footwear brands are sized slightly differently, but as a guide we suggest taking the same size in Crown Northampton that you would take in the brands mentioned above. CM MEASUREMENT VS ACTUAL FOOT LENGTH
For a more precise size guide that is specific to Crown Northampton footwear, we ask that you go by our listed CM measurements vs the actual length of your foot.
In order to get the best size for your feet, follow these simple steps:
1. Place your foot on a piece of paper and mark the two furthest points from your heel to your longest toe, then take the measurement from point to point.
2. Using the size table above you can compare between UK/US/EU sizing in centimetres, we recommend you select a size around 0.4 CM to 0.8 CM longer than your actual foot measurement for the optimum fit.
We take our listed CM measurements directly from the last so this size conversion method is the most accurate and personal to each customer.
COMPLIMENTARY INSOLES (Classic & TL Sneaker Collections Only)
With each Sneaker collection order we add in an extra pair of complimentary insoles with memory foam properties that can be slipped under the existing insoles if desired. This helps achieve a closer fit and in most cases compensates for a half size. This added extra is available with the Sneaker collection only.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Our Hand Stitch Collection is the pinnacle of luxury, handmade sneakers. With a low profile silhouette, hand-finished construction, and world-class materials have been specifically tailored and tweaked, further elevating the Crown Northampton Sneaker range to the highest levels possible. This top tier collection draws inspiration from bespoke, hand welted dress shoes with more than a few nods of respect to time-honored traditional processes. Externally, the Harlestone Derby uses the finest Scottish deer suede. The inner workings of the Hand Stitch Sneaker Collection are equally impressive. Following the standards set with bespoke, hand welted shoes, our Harlestone Derby sneakers are cork filled by hand. This age-old process requires skill and patience and is held dear to Crown Northampton's traditional roots. The cork forms a solid filler down the full spine of the sneaker that provides just enough movement to mould to the wearers' feet, with the additional benefits of comfort, stability, and breathable properties throughout the sneaker. Traditional oak bark leather is used for the counter and stiffener with a natural veg-tan crust shoulder used to form the foundations of the insole. Topped with soft, natural leather lining and french bound stitching around the outer edges, the end result of these combined classic techniques is a solid, reliable structure that offers superior strength and longevity. Hand Stitch sign off detail is applied to the upper and rear dog tail tabs with signature 'Double Stitch' finishing. This thick, natural waxed cotton double stitch adds construction security and design character. These intricate, centuries-old construction details, further close the gap between high-end casual sneakers and traditional, Goodyear Welted Northampton dress shoes. Continually pushing the boundaries of high quality, casual led footwear; Crown Northampton confidently produce what is now the ultimate handmade in England ‘Dress Sneaker’
SUSTAINABLE SOLES
The Harlestone Derby is finished with Lactae Hevea soles. Made from virgin hevea milk harvested directly from the Cao Su or ‘Crying Wood’ tree; these soft, durable sole units are fully sustainable and offer a comfortable ride that only gets better with each wear. All styles from the Hand Stitch Collection are available with a choice of natural gum, white or black soles, and inline with sustainability characteristics, they are fully resoleable at a later date if required.
*Please note. Due to the natural finishing processes used to create Lactae Hevea soles, there may sometimes be slight imperfections and colour differences from sole to sole. However, this is all part of the unique finish when using natural materials and the overall precision and performance of Lactae Hevea sole units will never be compromised.
CLICKER’S NOTES - SCOTTISH DEER SUEDE
The Scottish Deer suede we have selected is fully traceable from within the UK where it is also tanned and finished by Barrhead Kid Co. Sourced from the Barrhead region of Scotland, deer suede is luxuriously soft to the touch with a plush nap, whilst also managing to retain high levels of strength and durability that make it ideal for everyday wear. With deep, thorough dyeing techniques utilised throughout the Barrhead range, rich finishes of the highest quality are guaranteed. These carefully managed levels of detail and preparation made this particular material the perfect choice for our premium Hand Stitch Collection. Fully sourced, tanned, and finished in Scotland, UK.

- How do your sneakers fit in comparison to other sportswear brands? The length of our sneakers is similar to Nike, Converse, Vans & made in England New Balance. - What are the main differences between your Overstone, Upton and Abington sneaker styles? They are all made on the same last so generally the overall fit is the same. The main difference is in the construction to the upper. The Overstone and Abington styles have an open derby construction which is made up of separate pieces. Also the Abington also has a leather toe cap piece. The Upton is slightly different as it is made with a wholecut, one piece upper that gives a continuous finish. All three styles are based on traditional Northampton footwear methods of construction - Derby, Wholecut, Toe cap. A more detailed review and summary can be found here.
- Do you offer a wide fitting option? Yes. All of our collections are made to an F fitting as standard. Our Hand Stitch Sneakers, Stitchdown, Jazz and Slipper collections do not have removable insoles but thin insoles could be added on top if needed.
- Do you offer free shipping? Yes, on all footwear orders to the UK & Worldwide.
