The Upton TL is an alternative version of our original wholecut sneaker that’s made from a one piece upper. Visibly slimmer in appearance, the TL features trimmed down uppers through reduced cushioning to the collar and tongue, with raw stitched finishing to the edges. The TL construction is lightweight in feel, form-fitting and lined with breathable natural leather which ensures they can be comfortably worn with or without socks, complete with extremely comfortable hand finished Crown Northampton insoles The custom-made Crown Northampton sole unit offers strength, durability and comfort all in a lightweight base which is then securely attached with sidewall stitching, allowing for resoling in our factory at a later date if required. Further details include a Crown embossed tongue, premium waxed laces, handwritten internal style notes and an extra set of insoles that can be placed underneath the existing insoles to help tailor the fit if necessary. Handmade to order in Northampton, England.

Thought to be one of the best if not the best quality suedes available. This is mainly due to Janus calf suede originating from some of the very best raw material in the world. The hides benefit from a secret combination of ingredients used in the subsequent tanning processes - all carried out by C F Stead in Leeds, England. The end product has a soft, luxurious look and feel, whilst offering reassuring strength and durability. Janus suede may feel delicate to the touch but it contains strong fibres that make it tough, flexible and resilient.

The four main shoemaking stages once an order is placed...

      Clicking

The ‘clicking’ or cutting process as it is also known is the very start of your shoes being made, the leather is cut into the shapes that make up your silhouette either by hand or on a press.

      Closing

Once all the components of the shoe are cut they go through several processes that are essential to the construction then they are sewn together to make the upper.

      Lasting

A last is a template form that is unique to each shoe size and style, the upper is pulled onto the last to give it the final shape of the shoe ready for a sole to be fitted. Once the sole is fitted the shoe will have it’s complete form.

      Shoe Rooming

The final stage of the factory process your shoes go through the hands of our quality checkers and the finish is applied to the leather or suede to finish the shoe and ensure it looks it’s absolute best.
