Over the years, we’ve welcomed hundreds of visitors to our Northampton factory, where they can immerse themselves in the 800-year-old craft that has shaped our town’s legacy - and even try their hand at it.
Every now and then, reassured by the wonderful people who appreciate what we do, we leave our shoemaking town to give others further afield a little slice of what we proudly call home.
One such place is the Stitchdown Boot Camp in New York, the brainchild of Ben Robinson - a man we’d describe much like quality footwear: ‘built with a purpose.’ Fortunately for us and those lucky enough to attend, that purpose is to shine a light on boot and shoemakers like us.
Boot Camp gives our team the rare chance to meet some of you in person, offer access to our sample sale, give away a rare pair of sneakers, and even teach a lucky few a piece of English shoemaking heritage. Last year was the first edition, and while we initially feared our sneakers might not be the first thought at a boot event, Ben assured us that our values and commitment to honouring Northampton’s quality will shine through.
Thankfully, he was right! But more than that, everyone made us feel incredibly welcome - it was a community of like-minded people who share our goals. We knew we had to return to show our appreciation. So, this year, on October 12th and 13th, we’ll be launching the newest addition to the Crown collection. Available first at Boot Camp, this release will feature a unique leather, a matching belt, and a special gift from us. More details to follow in the weeks ahead.
The reason we attend Bootcamp and open our factory doors at home is simple: we’re proud of what we do. Every pair of shoes and sneakers is crafted to order with time and care. Bootcamp gives us the chance to cross the pond and meet some of the amazing people who help keep our craft alive by placing those orders.
We look forward to seeing you and thanking you in person - whether at our Northampton factory or at Bootcamp. Both are chances for us to connect, share our craft, and show the pride we take in every pair of footwear we make.
